Sofia - Torrential rains over Bulgaria in the last 24 hours have caused flooding and damage to property and roads in the southern part of the country. The municipalities of Pazardzhik and Plovdiv were hit hardest by the rains and declared a state of emergency on Wednesday. Bulgaria's Foreigners Act changes
The Cabinet approved changes to the regulations in Bulgaria’s Foreigners Act on May 23. The regulations now encompass not only foreigners (defined as non-EU member state citizens) in Bulgaria, but also family members of Bulgarian nationals who are not EU citizens or citizens of the European Economic Area or Switzerland. Bulgaria Adopts Law on Black Sea Coast Management
Bulgaria's Parliament adopted on Friday the law for management of the country's Black Sea coast, which will enter into force from January 1, 2008. The law provides for the settling of two guarded zones, A and B, along the seacoast. Zone A covers the area from the water to a 100 metres inland, which means the beaches and the dunes.
